Editorial Policy
CheatBook is a hand-moderated database. Every cheat, article and guide on this site is reviewed by a human before it goes live, and this page explains exactly how we source, verify, correct and update that content.
Who writes CheatBook
Articles and guides are written by the CheatBook editorial team — a small group of long-time PC and console players with backgrounds in QA, community moderation and games journalism. Individual cheats are contributed by the community and then checked against a live install by a moderator before publication. We do not publish auto-generated or LLM-authored articles; every long-form piece has a human byline.
How cheats are verified
Every submitted cheat goes through a moderation queue. A moderator confirms the code, sequence or method works on the platform and version listed, checks for overlap with existing entries, and rejects submissions that require sideloading modified files, cracked binaries, or account credentials. Approved cheats are stamped with a verification date and a platform/version note so readers know exactly what was tested.
What we will not publish
- Pirated files, cracked executables, ROMs or copyrighted assets.
- Trainers, DLL injectors, kernel bypasses, or anti-cheat evasion tools.
- Cheats intended for competitive online play or matchmaking.
- Modded APK or IPA downloads, or links to sites hosting them.
- Anything that requires a user to hand over account credentials.
- Auto-generated or scraped filler content.
Corrections and updates
Games are patched. When a reader flags a cheat that no longer works, we retest on the current version and either update the entry, mark it as a legacy code with the last-working version, or remove it. Every page carries a "last updated" timestamp so you can see when the content was most recently reviewed. To report an error, use the contact form linked in the footer.
Advertising and independence
CheatBook may run display advertising through third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Advertisers have no editorial influence: they cannot request coverage, approve articles, or affect the ordering of games and cheats. We do not accept paid placements inside cheat listings, and any sponsored content — if we ever publish it — will be labelled clearly at the top of the page.
